Aon unveils leadership shift in Commercial Risk business

Aon has revealed that in October 2025, Phil Smaje will assume the role of Global Industry Specialty Leader, Transportation & Logistics, succeeding Lee Meyrick, who will become Chair of a newly created Risk Capital Transportation & Logistics vertical until his retirement at the end of 2026.

Phil Smaje joined Aon in 2023 and currently serves as Chief Broking Officer for Transportation & Logistics.

Previously in his career, he served as CEO of Aerospace and Global Head of Broking at WTW and CEO of Piiq Risk Partners.

Meanwhile, Lee Meyrick has served in Global Specialty leadership roles at Aon for the past eight years. He has also served in senior positions at XL Catlin and AIG.
