Blenheim Underwriting, a specialist managing general agent (MGA) and Lloyd’s coverholder, has appointed Alex Stratton-Thomsett as Casualty Underwriter, effective 8 January 2026.
In his new role, Stratton-Thomsett will collaborate with David Barber, Senior Casualty Underwriter, to accelerate the growth of Blenheim’s casualty portfolio.
Stratton-Thomsett brings 25 years of specialist experience in the casualty insurance market.
He joins from MS Amlin, where he was Lead Underwriter for US casualty, and previously worked alongside Barber for 14 years at Chaucer, achieving a strong record of underwriting performance and portfolio development.
Blenheim Underwriting provides bespoke underwriting solutions across multiple classes of business, operating within the Lloyd’s market and serving clients worldwide. The addition of Stratton-Thomsett reflects the company’s continued investment in experienced talent to support its growth ambitions.
Barber said: “We’re thrilled to welcome Alex to the team, marking a significant step forward in the expansion of our casualty MGA book and making it one of the stronger units in this specialist marketplace . It’s another endorsement of our independent structure, which continues to attract top-tier underwriting talent, that can sometimes get lost in larger organisations.”
